Bruton, a school of 600, always struggled with small football participation numbers and in a 2018 lost two of its best linemen to injury.  That left the Panthers with 15 players, half of them with no varsity experience. The team cut their schedule in half and were outscored 262-14 during their winless season. In 2019 the team will return to playing a full 10-game season.
